Chantal Michelle is a composer and artist based in New York City and Berlin. Through the architectural manipulation of sound, she constructs intricate and densely textured works that disorient and immerse, inviting alternate forms of perception. She is interested in the spatial and tactile properties of sound, and her artistic practice often uses feedback, multichannel speaker arrays, and psychoacoustic phenomena as possible means of exploration. Her body of work includes site-responsive installations, hand-blown glass instruments, ensemble performances, and recorded material.
